2012 Sino-U.S. Pharmaceutical Industry Intellectual Property Experts Working Group Meeting was successfully co-hosted by SINO-PhIRDA and PhRMA in Beijing on September 19. Mr. Chen Changxiong (Standing Deputy Secretary-General, SINO-PhIRDA) and Mr. Richard Kjeldgaard (Deputy Vice President, PhRMA) chaired the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr. Larry Welch (Assistant General Patent Counsel, Eli Lilly), Mr. Jiang Hui (Director, State Intellectual Property Office of China), Mr. David Shen (Regional Legal Counsel, Astra Zeneca) and Ms. Sun Lifang (Director of Intellectual Property Dept., Luye Pharma Group Ltd.) delivered speeches on topics of “Early patent enforcement under Hatch-Waxman Act” and “Views on early patent enforcement and 4^th amendment to China’s Patent Law”, respectively. The participants had warm and friendly discussion regarding the “Elements of effective patent enforcement systems for pharmaceutical products” and other common interests.

Mr. Hu Shaojing (Vice President – R&D, Zhejiang BetaPharma Co., Ltd.), Ms. Shen Dongmin (Assistant Director of R&D Department, CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Ltd.), Mr. Wang Xin (Director of International Cooperation, SINO-PhIRDA), Mr. Huang Yi (Senior Manager of International Cooperation, SINO-PhIRDA), Ms. Jennifer Osika (Assistant Vice President, PhRMA) and Ms. Jennifer Chen (Director of Legal Affairs, RDPAC) also attended the meeting.
