Upon the invitation from International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA), led by Dr. Ding Lieming, Chairman of PhIRDA, Chairman & CEO of Betta Pharmaceuticals, and Prof. Song Ruilin, Executive President of PhIRDA, PhIRDA Delegation participated in the IFPMA Leadership Meeting and Council Meeting on June 26 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Ding Lieming, Prof. Song Ruilin, and Ms. Cheng Yinqi (Deputy Secretary-General of PhIRDA), participated in the 2017 IFPMA Leadership Meeting on the morning of June 26. In the meeting, the participants deeply discussed a series of important issues, including global regulation framework, G20 Strategy, price, value and approval of drugs, the cooperation between ICH and national trade organizations, research projects of IFPMA and so on.  

On the afternoon of June 26, all delegates participated in the IFPMA Council Meeting. Mr. Thomas Cueni, General Director of IFPMA, specifically introduced PhIRDA as a new member to all participants. He said, PhIRDA represents Chinese domestic innovative pharmaceutical industry, and its participation will help IFPMA to play a more important role across the globe. PhIRDA was formally approved to join IFPMA on the 29th IFPMA Council Meeting on Oct 29, 2016, and became the solo representative of Chinese domestic pharmaceutical industry in IFPMA.

Participation of PhIRDA Delegation in the formal meetings of IFPMA is one significant measure for PhIRDA to deepen the principles of “innovation, industrialization, internationalization” and accelerate its globalization. Ms. Ouyang Jingbo , CEO & Vice-Chairperson of Guangxi Wuzhou zhongheng Group Co., Ltd. , Ms. Lou Shengqiong , General Manager of Hangzhou Repugene Technology Co., Ltd. , Ms. Jiang Hua, Vice President of Luye Pharma Group Co., Ltd., Mr. Ke Xiao, Vice President of Kanghong Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. , Mr. He Yun, CEO of Liangjiang Medicine Co., Ltd., Ms. Gu Hongmei, assistant to president & head of R&D Institute of Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., Ms. Chengyinqi, Deputy Secretary-General of PhIRDA, Ms. Lu Xiaoti, Deputy Director of International Department of PhIRDA also participated in the meetings.
