The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA) Council Meeting held in Washington DC on 29 November 2016 approved China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association (PhIRDA) to join IFPMA as a formal member of the federation.

Founded in 1988, PhIRDA is registered as a non-profit organization by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China at the first national level. PhIRDA focuses the principle of “innovation, industrialization, internationalization”, persists in innovation to achieve unmet medical needs, making constant contributions to the greater economic development and public health in China.

IFPMA represents the research-based pharmaceutical companies and associations across the globe. Based in Geneva, IFPMA has official relations with the United Nations and contributes industry expertise to help the global health community find solutions that improve global health.
